Grand Avenue Development

Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Film Museum

Los Angeles, CA

Working with Related Urban Development and the Grand Avenue Committee, we prepared a number of site development options and concept designs for a 200,000-square-foot, world-class film museum—a potential future home to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Located along the redeveloped Grand Avenue Corridor in downtown Los Angeles, the concept envisions a mixed-use development that, along with Disney Concert Hall, would anchor the east end of the avenue. Addressing broader urban design issues of pedestrian circulation, open space, definition of street edges and building massing, the plan illustrates concepts both for the 3.6-acre development parcel, as well as improvements for how the project could tie into the emerging life of the City.
