Interior Architectural Designer

Pfeiffer, a Perkins Eastman Studio, has an immediate opening in our downtown Los Angeles office for an experienced Architectural Designer with an Interiors Specialization and/or an Interior Designer with a portfolio of institutional, educational, cultural, healthcare or a combination of these building/space types. Primary Responsibilities

  • Support multiple projects of substantial variety and complexity in multiple phases and concurrent deadlines
  • Collaborate with all project team members to ensure design intent is developed, documented, detailed and coordinated
  • Research, prepare and present high-quality designs, including conceptual boards, image boards, plan layouts and material boards under the direction of the Project Architect and Sr. Interior Designer
  • Produce construction documentation and develop construction details in coordinating with Project Designer for design continuity and constructability.
  • Develop finish material palettes and participate in customization of finish materials
  • Develop Furniture Furnishings and Equipment (FF&E) research, selection, customization, budgeting, specifications
  • Manage firm’s resource materials library, including coordinating & scheduling vendor visits and keeping resources current.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in architectural interior design; multi-phased projects and emphasis on production and coordination of documents is desired.
  • Aptitude for design with a strong aesthetic sense and high attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capacity to engages with coworkers and vendors
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills; fluency in English (oral and written communication)
  • Advanced graphic skills: Proficiency in Affinity and MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint)

Primary Responsibilities

Project Architect/Designer

Senior Technical Architect

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Technical Architect in our Los Angeles region. The Senior Technical Architect will develop and follow through on projects from pre-design through construction administration phases. The candidate should have both strong technical and design capabilities and the ability to collaborate with senior staff openly and effectively and to direct/mentor intermediate and junior staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leading the detailing and documentation process from concepts through CA for multi-phased, complex performing arts, library, and education and historic renovation projects
  • Documenting new construction, as well as renovations and additions
  • Preparing building construction drawings and details that are aligned with construction budgets
  • Editing and coordinating specifications
  • Researching and the innovative application of materials and building systems
  • Serving as a technical resource to developing architects for details, consultant communication and constructability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture required.
  • Minimum of 15 or more years of relevant experience
  • Registered architect, LEED AP preferred, DBIA desirable
  • Experience in the development and implementation of project schedules, work plans, cartoon sets, and other tools for managing the design and documentation process
