Pfeiffer, a Perkins Eastman Studio, is currently seeking creative aspiring architects to support our continued growth. Project Architect/Designer

We are currently seeking a full-time Project Architect/Designer in our Los Angeles region. The firm strives to provide excellent opportunities for individuals to excel in a dynamic collaborative environment where personal growth is encouraged.

Primary Responsibilities:

      • Lead and assist in design efforts on design projects at a variety of scales (typically $15 – 75 million in construction cost), working with the Design Principal and Principal in Charge
      • Demonstrate a high degree of creative thinking in the design process, and be able to effectively communicate design ideas both verbally and graphically
      • Develop presentations using physical and digital tools
      • Participate in charettes and develop ideas and materials for use in project marketing pursuits
      • Originate and develop concepts and options for planning and feasibility studies
      • Author building design concepts and proposed solutions for renovation or new construction design problems within the context of a collaborative project team
      • Work directly and effectively with clients, consultants, vendors and contractors
      • Participate constructively in a team-oriented environment

Required Qualifications

      • Architectural degree from an accredited program
      • Minimum of 6 to 10 years of relevant architectural experience in cultural, institutional, and educational work
      • Architectural licensure in place or nearly complete
      • Excellent design and graphic skills, with the ability to participate in the conceptualization and design of complex projects from the pre-design through construction documents phases
      • Advanced digital modeling & rendering skills; physical model-making skills are a plus
      • Self-motivation and the ability to manage time well and achieve project deadlines
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English
      • Experience working in the context of multidisciplinary project teams
      • Working knowledge of BIM360 Design, Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Enscape 3D, Lumion,
      • Bluebeam, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and/or other design related software is considered essential.

Senior Technical Architect

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Technical Architect in our Los Angeles Region. The Senior Technical Architect will develop and follow through on projects from pre-design through construction administration phases. The candidate should have both strong technical and design capabilities and the ability to collaborate with senior staff openly and effectively and to direct/mentor intermediate and junior staff.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:
• Minimum 15 or more years of relevant experience
• Registered architect, LEED AP preferred, DBIA desirable
• Experience in the development and implementation of project schedules, work plans, cartoon sets, and other tools for managing the design and documentation process
• Familiarity with both owner/architect and architect/consultant forms of agreement; design/build experience desirable
• Clear understanding of risk mitigation through technical acumen and effective construction phase management
• Thorough understanding of project delivery processes, including design/build
• Proficiency with BIM360, Revit, AutoCAD and other applicable software applications• Ability to work effectively with Principals and project design leaders in a collaborative environment
• Ability to effectively represent the firm to its clients and the community

Position responsibilities
• Leading the detailing and documentation process from concepts through CA for multi-phased, complex performing arts, library, and education and historic renovation projects
• Documenting new construction, as well as renovations and additions
• Preparing building construction drawings and details that are aligned with construction budgets
• Editing and coordinating specifications
• Researching and the innovative application of materials and building systems
• Serving as a technical resource to developing architects for details, consultant communication and constructability

Interior Architectural Designer II

Primary Responsibilities:

    ● You'll work alongside Senior Interior Architects to develop cost effective designs and bring ideas to life using a combination of hand sketching, digital modeling, and stunning renderings.
    ● Encouraged to ask questions, engage in discussions, and proactively seek opportunities to improve as you learn Pfeiffer's processes and systems.
    ● With your experience in Revit, Affinity, and the Microsoft Office suite, you'll produce top-notch architectural design and construction documents and play a key role in selecting, planning, and specifying FF&E packages.
    ● Keep our resource materials library organized and coordinate with vendors to keep it up-to-date.

    Required Qualifications

      ● 6+ years of experience as an Intermediate Architectural Designer or Interior Designer with a portfolio in higher education, institutional, cultural, healthcare, or a combination of these
      ● Degree from an accredited school of Architecture or Interior Architecture
      ● LEED certification
      ● Authorized to work in the U.S. and reside in the Los Angeles area
      ● A registered architect or CID certification, a plus.
      ● Experience with BIM (Revit), Enscape, SketchUp, or other design software, a plus.

      As an Interior Architectural Designer II, you will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including architects, designers, agencies, customers, contractors, and engineers, and play an essential role in expanding the firm's capacity to take on more projects.

      Your role will immediately impact the project team and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-phased architectural projects.

      Salary Range : $75,000 - $90,000
      Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
