Reconstructed Argenta Hall Opens to Welcome Students at University of Nevada-Reno

August 16, 2022
Argenta Hall, one of the two residence halls at the University of Nevada-Reno that sustained substantial damage after a boiler explosion caused by a gas leak three years ago, has just reopened in time for students returning for the fall semester. The adjacent Nye Hall reopened in 2020 under a very accelerated schedule. As the explosion occurred right after a holiday, few were people present and there were no serious injuries. The reconstruction of the halls resulted in remodeled and refreshed facilities; the entrances to both halls were redesigned; the lobbies and student lounges remodeled; and in Argenta, small student study rooms and lounge/gaming rooms were included.
